I met a man who walked everywhere he went. He said, “traveling’s fine, until your money’s spent. And even then you can, with food and company. All the places that you’ll see”. I met a man who was frozen in his tracks. He said, “time is fine, but you can’t take it back. But even then you can, with lifetimes to try To live your life just right”. And I was always looking up. I was always looking at the stars. I was always looking up. I was always looking at the stars, And following and following and following and following that star. And following and following and following and following that star. Our father’s mother said one day she’d get discovered, And you know they say she sang just like me. But she crossed to the other side and so she passed it down the line. Now generations live vicariously through me. Saying “oh, live that dream!” Saying “oh, live that dream!” And I was always looking up. I was always looking at the stars. I was always looking up. I was always looking at the stars, And following and following and following and following that star. And following and following and following and following that star.

Home Is... 03:22
On the train from my place to yours, We started singin’ and it made us all less bored. It revolutionized the dull mundane, To sing a song together can help to keep us sane. On the day when you reclaimed the house, To make it home again, you cleaned and cleansed and dowsed, Well I was on my way back home, But home is nowhere you can live alone. Home’s the way I feel with folks I’ve known, And home’s a feeling I’ll take with me when I go. I found a home in your womb, now I find a home in your face, ‘Cause home is not a place. In the garden that we forgot to tend, We finish letters that we forgot to send To old friends we don’t know anymore, But we’ve got so much to share with the people they were before. Home’s the way I feel with folks I’ve known, And home’s a feeling I’ll take with me when I go. I found a home in your womb, now I find a home in your face, ‘Cause home is not a place.

(Welsh) Today I met a Rowan tree. He said to me, “Come and sit beneath, Come and rest your feet”. As I lay, drifting, dreaming of some faraway place, A robin came to me, Stole my heart, And hid it up a tree. He said, “it won’t be too easy, You’ll have to climb your way past these branches. Past branches and branches, reaching towards the heavens, reaching towards the heavens. Past branches and branches, reaching towards the heavens, reaching towards the heavens”. She said, “well I’ve been blessed, I’ve turned your heart into a nest, And when my babies cry It sings them lullabies”. (Welsh) Today I met a Rowan tree And became a part of everything, From the roots to the leaves.

An old man sits alone on a stage with dim lights. He says, “I’ll sing one more song, this one’s for my wife. She probably should have left me long ago, But I said darlin’ just hold on, until I sing this song I wrote... “I saved my marriage with this song I wrote, I plucked the words out of my chest and I said darlin’ that’s the best I can do for you. Then we got drunk on honesty and we fell back towards each other, Remembering all the ways we fell in love in the first place, Reliving every moment, every sigh with every note. I saved my marriage with this song I wrote”. She sits alone, his wife in the crowd, And she sings along and she sings out loud, Of all the love they made and every time they fought, All the little moments she thought that he’d forgot. Of all the love they made and every time they fought, Every time they faltered and every time they gave it all they got. “I saved my marriage with this song I wrote, I plucked the words out of my chest and I said darlin’ that’s the best I can do for you. Then we got drunk on honesty and we fell back towards each other, Remembering all the ways we fell in love in the first place Reliving every moment, every sigh with every note. I saved my marriage with this song I wrote”.

If you’re going down to the field, Won’t you carry me along with your shovel? If you’re going down to the field, Won’t you let me ride in your wheelbarrow? I’ll plant your garden, Tend to those children. I’ll plant your garden, Tend to those children. So if you’re wonderin’ where I’ll be When you’re out workin’. If you’re wonderin’ where I’ll be When you’re out Earth turnin’. I’ll be right beside you, With my hands in the dirt. I’ll be right beside you, And you know I’ll be singin’ too. Li da di di dum da da dum da da dum da da di da di da di dum Li da di di dum da da dum da da dum da da di di dum And in the summertime we’ll be bloomin’ with the peaches. By fall we’ll fillin’ up our baskets. By winter we’ll be nesting by the fire. And by springtime we’ll be stretchin’ our limbs and spreadin’ our wings again. So when I’m going to the mountains, I will carry you upon my shoulders. And when I’m going to the river, Won’t you meet me and we’ll cross over? I’ll walk beside you no matter where we’re goin’. I’ll be right beside you no matter what we’re doin’. We’ll plant our garden, tend to those children. We’ll plant our garden, tend to those children (my how they’re growin’). Li da di di dum da da dum da da dum da da di da di da di dum Li da di di dum da da dum da da dum da da di di dum x2 So lay me down in white bed clothes, lay me down in white bed clothes. Watch them turn to forest moss and call me home. Watch them turn to forest moss and call me home.

about

We finally did it! We recorded a demo cd of our original songs, inspired by nature, love, and family. With the ever-flowing cup of life as our muse, there's a lot more songs where these came from. Thanks for your continued support throughout this journey.
